Solutions for eBooks that will not open:
Even though you may be the only user for your machine and have admin rights, you may still need to actually go through the steps below in order to enable admin rights for the program.
Some PC’s may require you to apply steps in order to be logged in as the administrator so that File Secure Pro can connect to the Internet or in order to install the File Secure Pro Viewer.
Windows Vista has deeper layers of security settings than Windows XP.
If you have Windows 7, apply the remedial procedure for Vista.
If you are using Windows Vista:
Right-click on the file and choose "run as administrator". You should now be able to run the file without errors. If this simple step does not work, then follow the detailed steps for Vista below.
1) Right click on the file
2) Click “Properties”
3) Click “Compatibility” tab
4) Under “Compatibility mode”, check the box “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
5) Choose “Windows XP (Service Pack 2)” in the drop down menu box6) On the same tab, under “Privilege Level”, check the box “Run this program as an administrator”
7) Click “Apply”, then “OK”
8) Click on the file
9) Click “Run”
10) Click “Allow”
You should now be able to run the file without errors. Note: After this solution, each time that you open the eBook the normal Windows Vista security feature will still ask you for permission to “Run” and “Allow” the program like it does for all programs.
If you are using Windows XP:
1. In Windows Explorer, select the program executable file that you want to open
2. Press SHIFT and hold, right-click the program icon, and then click “Run as”
3. Click “The following user”
4. In User name and Password, type the Administrator user name and password that you want to use.5. Click OK
You should now be able to run the file without errors.
